There are few food trucks so successful that they can fund a restaurant and still keep their food truck business going, but somehow Boston ended up the home of quite a few of these locations. The Chicken and Rice guys happen to be one of these miracle workers.
The Chicken and Rice Guys went from one food truck to three, with three restaurants to boot. And it’s no wonder how they got so big: besides being reasonably priced, the food they’re serving up is filling, fast, and plentiful. A platter or gyro from these guys is practically two servings with the amount they give!
It also helps that they’re filling in a niche that I haven’t seen much of in Boston: good halal. Or really, any halal. Coming from NYC meant that I was used to at least one halal truck every two blocks, if not two a block in the busier parts of Manhattan, so the lack of these trucks milling around really startled me. But seeing the success of Chicken and Rice Guys, I can see why- they’re serving good food at a good price, and their stronghold on the market is strong.
